Wednesday Wisdom and the Conception of a Quilt

"O God(dess), you are my God(dess); eagerly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, my flesh faints for you... I remember you upon my bed, and meditate on you in the night watches. For you have been my helper, and under the shadow of your wings I will rejoice. My soul clings to you; your right hand holds me fast." Psalm 63:1, 6-8

Today the sun shone bright upon the fading banks of snow as my family and I drove to our local thrift shop where the boys and I picked out some lovely fabric...

We are conceiving a quilt today! We're calling it our "Night Watcher Quilt" after the Psalm above.

The blanket the boys currently use on their bed is an old one of mine.

Seth gave it to me our first Valentines day (insert "ahhhh" noise here). It's an all natural comforter made from corn. Over the years however it's become thread bare, stained and strained. We are going to use it as the backing for a new quilt for the boys bed. The best part is that the boys will be helping with the sewing on this project!

We are embarking on a family quilting journey today, wish us well! :) I will post updates of this project and then of course pictures of the happy little ones with their finished quilt!
