Michael & Sharon's Spa Party

We celebrated Michael and Sharon's birthdays at Casa Bunnell Monte Carlo Sunday. After fresh grilled chiken served on salad, cake and ice cream, the "kids" adjourned to our new spa to relax. For comparison purposes, here's a photo of the spa empty and tranquil looking.

We tested the occupancy or "load" limit on the spa

California Living

Acton and Kathy are out from Massachusetts, enjoying the nice winter weather in San Clemente. Today we had Mike, Miki and the kids over for lunch and a little relaxation in the spa. After soaking for awhile, Acton proclaimed it might be hard to go home after their winter vacation is over.

Fisheye "close-ups"

I returned from Japan on Friday and had a chance to fool around some more this weekend with the Fish-Eye 10-17mm lens. Michael and Miki brought the kids, Yuta and Yoji, over for lunch. It's amazing how close you can focus with this lens. It really forces you to stick the lens right up to your subject's face. Thankfully, our grand-kids feel very comfortable seeing grand-dad with a camera, so we had a fun time. All photos shot at 10mm, f/3.5, ISO 200 and 1/300 to 1/350 sec. Nice afternoon California coast light always helps.

Fisheye View; Ikebukuro

Sunday in Tokyo turned out to be a cold but sunny day. I spent a few hours walking around Ikebukuro with the new Pentax DA Fish-Eye 10-17mm lens. These are a few small jpeg samples, processed from RAW files. Although I need to check my exif data, I beleive all these images were shot at 10mm.
