FAQ: My Political Opinions

"I teach them correct principles and let them govern themselves." -Joseph Smith

I have had some people ask about my political views which are varied and not limited to one or two simple labels, so here's an overview for clarification. I'm not saying I'm "right" about anything, this is simply for informational purposes, PLEASE don't get on my case about it.

What political party do you belong to?

None really but if I had to label myself I'm an Anarcho-syndiclist which has also been called Libertarian Socialist or Anarchist Socialist. I believe the "power" as it is, lies in the hands of the workers/community who then should form community cooperatives for labor, laws, law enforcement and social services. I'm anti government and anti capitalism.

Under the system as it stands I support government's role in social services and education only. Ideally we would exist in local, tribal style communities of 100-1,000 people who then determine collectively how to manage themselves. Any elected leader or anyone working for the community would be directly and daily accountable for their actions or in-actions via the small population base.

I accept the current system of national government we have in America exists but I do not personally honor or support it. I have no president. My "leaders" are my local board of supervisors and my church Priest who operate with the local community's direct input and accountability. I do not recognize the police state however I have no need to currently violate any of their laws.

I'm against:

- government mandates
- tax lope holes for corporations
- corporate welfare of any kind
- "bail outs"
- credit card companies
- big ag
- corporations
- mass production

I'm for:

- the people
- self determination
- freedom of religion
- unions
- local food production
- localized health care structures

Where do you stand on...

Welfare?

Social aide and welfare are NEEDED. Not everyone fits the social norm and can be productive whether due to an emergency, or a mental or physical handicap. I think social welfare should be organized and supported on a local community level to best assist the needs of the people in their individual community.

Gay Marriage?

I think government has no place in marriage straight or gay. However as the current system stands I'm pro gay marriage and full enforcement of non discrimination laws. Ideally marriage would be between consenting adults and their God - no one else.

Taxes?

Taxes, if and how they are taken, should be decided upon by the people in their local community through democratic action.

Health Care Reform?

Under our current system I support single payer however ideally I would like to see community based worker run co-ops.

Public Education?

Under our current system I think the government should make a strong, free, national, public school system (that includes universities) their number two priority behind health care. It should be free, accessible and the standards nationally uniform with the option to home school freely. Ideally however schools should be local, community and worker run co-ops.

Abortion?

I believe that occasionally (very rarely) it is medically needed, so it should remain legal however in an ideal world sex education would eliminate the vast majority of unwanted pregnancies and women would take back their ancient wisdom of knowing how plants and diet can create a state of non fertility and/or menstrual induction.

I think the current government should out right ban all partial-birth abortions.

Church and State?

That should be decided by each community on an individual basis.

Immigration?

That should be decided by each community on an individual basis. However my personal opinion is there should be no borders and a completely localized community structure would eliminate the need for them world wide.

Production of food, goods and services?

As completely localized as is geographically possible. Direct community to community trade would be used to meet needs outside of ones personal community.

Defense?

Against what? War and crime are actions taken against, or because of, the hording, rich elite. Self determined, free people, have no need for warfare or criminal activity. Greed and selfishness are conditions of our current oppressed and unnatural state, free the people and the people will do what's right.
