Matt Cardle may have won X-Factor, but the song's rubbish

Sorry, but it has no merit at all. It is too low at the outset for Matt's tessitura; it has all the musical clichés of a Stock-Aitken-Waterman plastic pop fabrication: intro; verse; verse; chorus; bridge; chorus; outro... yawn. The modulations are tediously predictable and the lyric banal: love, split, angst...

So, this just leaves one serious and worthy contender for this year's Christmas No1. And it's for charity: Sir Cliff is donating all of his download royalties to Alzheimer's Research. So, whether you love Sir Cliff; want an actual Christmas carol to be No1 at Christmas; support Alzheimer's Research; loathe the Simon Cowellisation of the charts; or just want a bit of fun, please help to spread word of this campaign far and wide!
