I've never voted Tory before...
The latest tranche of Conservative campaign posters have been launched, and the spoofing has been instantaneous.
To be frank, the posters look like supermarket ads for Bovril or Bisto, and the headline runs the risk of reinforcing the tribal reasons for people never having voted Conservative in the past (isn't it a rule in marketing that you never reinforce the negative?). But the use of the word 'Tory' is interesting: the Party has complained in the past when some sections of the media (ie the BBC) have used it as a deprecatory term (as it was originally), yet now they appear to embrace the vernacular.
As bland as these posters might be, the spoofs are ubiquitous, and they save the Party millions in advertising as they go viral. Favourite so far:
