The hypocrisy of Baroness Warsi

It gives His Grace no pleasure at all to write that headline, having praised Sayeeda Warsi and admired her time and time and time and time and again over recent years, not least for her resilience and fortitude in confronting the sort of obtuse mindset she engages with in this video.

But please watch it to the end.

She refers to a 'direct conflict' between two sorts of Muslim.

She draws a clear distinction between 'real British Muslims' and 'those who bring Islam into huge disrepute'.

That is, one may say, between the 'moderate' and the 'extremist'.

The very distinction which today she blames for 'fuelling misunderstanding and intolerance'.

She further says: 'Britain needs to be very clear about (the distinction)' between these two types of Muslim.

May we then refer to 'real' Muslims and 'disreputable' ones?

Or is it only Muslims who may distinguish?

And, if so, how may the rest of us be 'very clear' about the distinction?

Perhaps the Baroness might clarify what terminology we may deploy so that we may be 'very clear' about the two types of Muslim who are in 'direct conflict'; between those Muslims who want to live peacefully with their non-Muslim neighbours and those who wish to introduce shari’a into this country, restrict freedom of speech and confine women to their homes.
